Bawanie Rajendran

Senior Clinical Psychologist (M. Clin. Psych, HELP University)

MAHPC(CP)00300|MSCP CP1-0251

Bawanie Rajendran is a Clinical Psychologist with over seven years of experience supporting diverse

clients through complex psychological challenges, including mood disorders (bipolar disorder,

depression), anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis spectrum conditions (schizophrenia, drug-induced

psychosis), somatisation, suicidality and medically-related psychological distress. Her work has

spanned medical and humanitarian settings across cultural contexts. In these roles, she has had the

privilege of helping clients rebuild their sense of hope and identity, as well as manage relational

distress and workplace stressors.

Trained at HELP University (Master of Clinical Psychology; Bachelor of Psychology) and drawing from

her own multicultural roots, Bawanie has developed particular expertise in cross-cultural

psychological care. She has extensive experience working with clients of various nationalities -

including survivors of intimate partner violence, individuals processing grief and separation, and

those facing acculturation difficulties.

While much of her career has focused on crisis and trauma work with vulnerable populations,

Bawanie recognises how these same principles - resilience, cultural awareness, and personalised

care - apply to everyday mental health challenges. She is keen on expanding her work with individuals

and families facing life transitions, including an emerging interest in the psychological aspects of

aging.
